UVSC Session Report
April 15, 2019 (Session #223)
(authored by BJ)

Fueled by many tasty snacks contributed by our club members, five of us
played 11 games this week. Speaking of snacks, I was pleased to find
the word BHAJI at a critical point in one of my games this week.
Merriam-Webster defines bhaji as "an Indian food consisting of a small
quantity of chopped vegetables that have been battered and deep-fried".
This sounds a lot like something I've had several times at the local
Indian restaurant in Hanover, though looking at their menu I see they
call it pakora. Perhaps we can have a comparison taste test at club
sometime .... Anyway, I played BHAJI to an existing I for 72 points
(using a blank for the A), though it was outdone in that same game by
Iliana's 80-point QUICK, which also used an existing I.

No particularly high-scoring bingoes were recorded this week, though
everyone contributed to produce a good solid list of them: PARETIC
(pertaining to PARESIS, a partial paralysis), FRENETIC, AEOLIAN
(pertaining to the wind), UNBOILED, EELIEST, SPINNER, RESOLVE, AUTOSOME
(a type of chromosome), TUNINGS, INVENTS, CHERISH, INJERAS (INJERA is an
Ethiopian bread), AVENGED, CREATION, UNCRATE, GAUNTREE# (a stand for
barrels), STERNLY, MURIATED (pickled), SALARIED, ENATION (an outgrowth),
GREATER, AEROBES (an AEROBE is a bacterium that requires oxygen),
CONTAINS, RESOURCE, MINGLES, NASTIES, REMAINS, MISRATE, STRIDES,
TANGLES, SOLARISE.
