UVSC Session Report
April 8, 2019 (Session #222)
(authored by BJ)

It was the quietest of weeks, with several people staying home due to
some late-season icy weather. Marilyn and I played just one game -- a
two-hour long open discussion game in which we talked about many of the
factors that go into deciding on a play. In particular we focused on
board openness. For example, if you feel like you are in good position
to play a bingo on your next turn, and you decide to play off a V this
turn, don't put it in a place that closes down potential bingo lanes for
yourself. On the flip side, if your opponent is making small plays like
they are getting close to a bingo, then you might just want to put that
V in an inconvenient location. :)

In any case, it was a fruitful discussion and our strategic navigation
of the game led us to five total bingos: NOISIEST and CLITTERS (to
CLITTER is to make a shrill noise) by me, and NEATEST, APOGEES, and
DETRAINS by Marilyn.
