UVSC Session Report
March 11, 2019 (Session #218)
(authored by BJ)

Several of our club members have been traveling, and we were happy to
have Margaret join us after her recent return. Adelie also joined us
again for a game, and along with Ellen, Iliana and myself we played 10
games total. Adelie had some help from me during our game, though she
only needed minimal prompting before finding QUARRY in a nice hotspot
for 66 points! My personal highlight of the night was a 5-way overlap
bingo with TROADES# (a TROADE# is a track or path), also forming TOW,
RUM, OR, AI, and DEGGED#. Ellen made a nice play in MURIATED (briny or
pickled) through a T, but also connecting the I to WIS to form
IWIS. (WIS is a form of WIST, meaning to know, and IWIS means
certainly.) Iliana had the high non-bingo HAZE for 65 and the nice
bingo find of AZOTISE (to combine with nitrogen).

Our other bingos included RATTANS, LAETARES# (LAETARE# means the fourth
Sunday in Lent), LURDANE (a lazy person), DANDIES, AGENDAS, BEIGNETS,
UNLACED, GROANED, UPSTAGED, DICTATED, ROENTGEN (see last week's report
for the meaning), BARONETS (a BARONET is lesser baron), SURLIEST,
ESCAROLE, DIMMABLE, QUESTING, TECHIES, AMOUNTS, NOOSING, PLAITER,
DEXTERS (DEXTER is a breed of cattle), INERTIAS, STRICKEN, RAISING,
ARENOUS (sandy), VISAGES, EFTSOON (soon afterward), CRUDELY, SENIORS,
TINDERS, and SEDITION.
