UVSC Session Report
October 22, 2018 (Session #201)
(authored by BJ)

Gabe, Margaret, Ellen, Iliana, and I played a few rounds, and then
Brandon, a Northern Vermonter and tournament player, joined us for the
first time for one late-night game. Iliana and I had a rare
1000-total-point game, 528-483 (1011 total), in which she played the
triple-triple TINKERED for 167 points and I had a 9-letter bingo
(REPAIRING) and a 101-point bingo, IMAGERY. This is only the third
1000-point game out of almost 1800 games that have been played at the
UVSC since its inception in 2014. There were also some nice high scores
in other games too, as Ellen scored 484 on the way to drubbing yours
truly, and Gabe smashed his personal best with a 471 game against
Iliana.

Our bingos also included: BETONIES (BETONY is a plant with
reddish-purple flowers), OCREATE (pertaining to OCREA, a sheathing plant
part), TINDERS, UNITERS, COLANDER, RENAMES, LAKIEST (LAKY means of a
reddish pigment), SCANTER (more SCANT), AEROSAT (a satellite for air
traffic control), ASSAILED, HONOREES, TWIRLING, OUTEATEN (to OUTEAT is
to surpass in eating), NUTRIAS (a NUTRIA is an aquatic rodent), UNDATED,
DIVULGES, TERGITE (the back of an arthropod), NOTAIRE# (a French
official like a notary), SOAKERS, TWINERS (a TWINER is a plant that
climbs by twining), HALOUMI# (a Greek sheep's-milk cheese), DIVERSE,
MOLDIER, SASSING, ALIDADE (a device used in angular measurement),
ENTICES, EQUATED, PRIVATE, TINNIER, SWAYING, JESTING, HUDDLED, STRAFED.

Pictured below are a nutria and the 1000-point game (CSW).
