UVSC Session Report
February 26, 2018 (Session #169)
(authored by BJ)

Suppose you find yourself in a game in which QUEST is on the board, and
a 3-letter front extension would reach the triple word score. What three
letters might you place in front of it? After Iliana originally played
QUEST (for a whopping 89 points) early on in one of our games, she and I
spent much of the remainder of the match pondering how to deal with the
possibility of a CON- front extension, both offensively and
defensively. However, we both missed at least one other such front
extension -- can you find any more? (Note: All such front extensions
are TWL.)

That QUEST play was the high non-bingo of the year and 4th highest ever
for our club. Iliana also had the high bingo of the night, finding
REGLAZED for healthy 110, making it the second-highest play of the year
so far behind Ellen's 113-point play two weeks ago. Two other 100-point
bingos also went down today: my SHAFTED for 101 and Iliana's TZARINA for
104. The rest of the pack included some nice words in their own
right. Here are most of them: AEROSAT, UNPAIRED, BLISTERS, ANTIPODE,
LEAFIEST, REFIGURE, KERNELS, ATRESIA, BRUNTED#, DEMONESS, CARMINE,
AIRSHOT, NONARTS, GROCERS, BAULKERS, and WAILERS.

Below is the QUEST board (CSW). In the end, only IN- was added to the
front at the very end of the game.
