UVSC Session Report
February 5, 2018 (Session #166)
(authored by BJ)

Margaret, Iliana, Jeffrey and I played 11 total games this week, with an
intermission for yet another tasty potluck revolving around a porcine
contribution from northern Vermont. Our boards were also riddled with
tasty morsels ... of the lexical variety, including the likes of:

* GESNERIA (quiz: what's the TWL back hook?)
* CATLINGS (I thought a catling was a surgical knife, but it also means
           "a small cat" -- duh!)
* GRIDIRON (which is a verb in addition to the usual nounal meaning)
* BIOTICAL (pertaining to life, same as BIOTIC; note that ABIOTIC is
           also valid, but not ABIOTICAL*)
* LIGROINE (a petroleum-based solvent, also LIGROIN)

Other bingo words: VESTRAL, STOWERS, UNTEAMS#, ETAMINE, ESTRONE,
SHRINED, SECANTS, SMARTIE, DENTINAL, TERNION, OVERSOON, HELIXES,
THRIFTS, GREASERS, GRIDIRON, UTOPIAS, OBJECTED, NEARSIDE, SOLVENTS,
SIGNORAS, LOVELIER, TATTILY, NEONATE.

We rounded out the evening (er, early morning) with a few rounds of
Boggle in which long words were not very forthcoming, but we did find a
few. The 9-letter STEELIEST was the longest, along with the 8-letter
words OFTENEST, DETENTES, and STILLEST.
